How to make an A7 Envelope

I will use the scoring board, but the project can be done if you have a ruler and mark the line exactly. The cons to this is that it can be hard to have straight lines.

Materials needed:

Materials for project: Boning tool; double-sided tape; 8.5in x 11in 65lb cardstock; scissors; corner rounder; scoring board
Step 1

Place the 8.5in x 11in cardstock on the scoring board.

1st scoring line on the scoring board at the 1/2 in mark.
Step 2

Make a score line at the ½ in line and 8in line. You should only have ½ in on both sides meaning the sheet of paper starts off on the side that is 8.5in long. Please see the picture for more details.

Step 3

Flip the sheet horizontally. Now you should have a length of 11in. Make a score line at the 2 ¼ in line and at the 7 ½ in line.

Step 4

Cut out the 4 corners where the lines intersect. Do not cut the middle.

Step 5

Cut the corners of the middle flap, only the top side at an angle. You will cut about ½ in on each side.

Step 6

Use a corner rounder (I use a 10mm cut) to make the flaps round. This should only be on the outside corners.

Step 7

Flip the middle flaps inward and use the boning tool to make the crease deeper.

Step 8

Fold the bottom flap up. Use the boning tool to make the crease deeper.

Step 9

Cut out double-sided tape and put them on the bottom flaps. Take off the seal (if your tape has one) for the tape and flip the bottom flap to come together with the middle flaps.

Step 10

Fold down the top flap. Take off the double-sided tape when you need to use it.
