Square envelopes and anything rigid, lumpy, or oddly shaped gets sorted by hand and costs more. Large envelopes are for pieces over 6-1/8" x 11-1/2".
A single card in its envelope is usually about 1 oz. Each insert (RSVP card and envelope, details card, belly band) typically adds 0.2 to 0.4 oz.
Rates reflect USPS First-Class Mail pricing effective July 12, 2026: $0.82 for the first ounce, $0.29 per additional ounce, and a $0.49 nonmachinable surcharge for square or rigid pieces. Large envelopes start at $1.69 for the first ounce. Confirm unusual shapes or weights with your local post office before printing a full run.
